In order to achieve new standards of care Dr. Almino and his staff had developed a multidisciplinary approach to support patients with morbid obesity and obesity in general called Total Patient Care (T.P.C.) that provides the kind of care that this multiple origin disease (the obesity) needs. The T.P.C. on obesity is originated from USA and was adapted By Dr. Almino’s staff to be used in Gastro Obeso Center. Multidisciplinary professionals such as Psychologist, Nutritionist, Psychotherapists and Personal Trainers works in exclusive basis with us under a supervision of a Bariatric manager. Other medical specialties such as Endocrinologist and Anesthesiologist also attend on the center and are deeply involved with the T.P.C. program.

The T.P.C. program follows a specific routine:

o       Pre consultation form filling

o       First consultation

§        Decide if the Patient is a surgical candidate

§        Inform consenting form

§        surgical procedure helping guide

o       Multidisciplinary pre-operative course (6h)

§        Bariatric Manager , Psychologist, Nutritionist, Psychotherapist, Personal Trainer, Endocrinologist, Anesthesiologist Plastic surgeon and the Bariatric Surgeon

o       Multidisciplinary pos-operative course (3h)

§        Bariatric Manager , Psychologist, Nutritionist and Surgeon

o       Multidisciplinary consultation scheduling for the same day

International patients have an special T.P.C. “express” and personal program in English applied by a trained bariatric helper who will translating the multidisciplinary team orientation and support before the surgery .The surgeon will explain about the surgery and all of the doubts will be cleared.
